    Hi,

We are trying to connect our sky+ box from our kitchen to our living room. The house is wired with RF sockets in each room and coaxial cabling split in the attic.
We do not have a terrestrial aerial, we only use sky.

Can we use the existing cabling, connecting the sky box RF out to the RF wall socket, changing the splitter input to this cable and connecting the living room tv to the RF socket in that room?

Yes, you can feed the Sky RF2 out to the living room via the existing co-ax cabling and control the Sky box from there using a magic eye using another Sky remote control.

You cannot watch 2 different channels this way, the same channel only on both TVs.

You also need to make sure rf2 is turned on in the sky box.

That's RF2 power on or off, the 9 VDC supply for magic eyes or amplifiers. The RF signal (tv picture & sound) will still be there whether it's turned on or not.

Hold on. I was told by staff at currys and argos that we could not use magic eye because ...

    1. It does not work for digital
    2. You need to run "another" coaxial cable (not your existing one) to your second tv.

    Is this wrong?

Can magic eye work passing the signal through the wall cabling through the attic and back to the second tv?

    Yes.

    They gave you incorrect advice.
