Ditching the High Heels for flats

I'm quite tall and have always worn my heels on nights out as I feel they make an outfit look good..

But I'm considering ditching the heels.. I'm getting a bit fed up of being two heads above everyone on a night out..

Can anyone recommend any places where I would get some nice flat shoes.. Ideally I'd love to keep wearing my sandals but with the irish weather and all the heels that could trod on me they aren't the most practical!

Loads of lovely slippers and flats in the obvious places like Topshop, M&S sometimes have nice comfortable flats too. Or check out ASOS for a wider selection. I often find lovely shoes no one else has in local shoe shops, and you're buying local.

I'm not usually one to recommend Penny's for anything, usually when I shop there I consider most thing I buy as disposable because they don't last a week.

They have a lovely line of flats in at the moment, I think the line is called sole desire. They are actually really comfortable and very pretty. They aren't like most flats I've worn where you can feel every pebble you walk on through them. I've been wearing the ones I bought most days for the last couple of weeks and they aren't showing much signs of wear so hopefully they won't collapse after a month.

    Can't go wrong for €9 :)

My clothes from Penneys last at least months, some years. A week would be a very poor amount of time!

Slight exaggeration, but generally stuff I buy doesn't last long at all, t-shirts and leggings in particular. I do occasionally find the odd gem tho, like these shoes :)

Just avoid the cheaper range of pumps, they last me literally a day before they're wrecked

Zara have been doing beautiful flats recently. Some would be more than suitable for nights out or dressy occasions.

Day to day, I love brogues. I have a pair from Clark's with a small heel and a proper sole, very comfortable for work and can be worn with dresses or trousers.

+1. I also have a pair of tan brogues from Clarks that look very stylish under cuffed jeans, with dresses, etc. and are incredibly comfortable. They're more of a casual wear piece though. Otherwise, I'm a big fan of flat ankle boots. Asos, New Look and Zara usually do the trick for me :D

Bit pricier but buffalo do amazing ones, every colour of the rainbow and quite comfy too. About 50 euro for a pair but they do last.
