Holiday Suggestions - November

So I have holidays to take in November and just looking for advice/recommendations. Will be travelling with a friend, we are 25 and out-going, and also active/get up and go kind of people! We are thinking Paris/surrounding areas but I'm worried it will be too expensive. Also considering Nice, Prague and Madeira (not sure if I want sun or snow!). I'd appreciate any suggestions of 'off-the-beaten-track' kind of places I may have never heard of. Skiing has literally just crossed my mind, any one know of places that aren't too $$$?

Skiing in November is not really a runner, you're not really guaranteed snow in November anywhere in Europe. If you want sun, then it's really Madeira or the Canaries, if you wanted to do some hiking then La Gomera (small canaries island) might be an option though I think night-life is limited there (though a ferry to one of the other islands could help with that).

How long are you planning to go away for?

I think Berlin is a great city for a weekend and it's great value too.
