New series of ice pilots starts tonight on discovery.
Always enjoy this due to the variety of aircraft and sounds of pistons to glorious turbo props.
    Enjoy! !!!!

Good show tonight. ..... but. .... looks like an electra will suffer a nasty accident in a future episode.
Nice flypast at the start too in honour of the fatal 737 crash.
Looking forward to the future programmes.

The Electra already had an incident in the last season....is there another one to come?

The new season will start later on this year across the water

The season the op was talking about is the one you and I saw last year from the states but it has only reached these shores now.
(Discovery Channel also re-do the commentary with the highly annoying Ringo Starr who manages to ruin it and make it sound like Thomas the tank Engine)

The Electra involved in the incident is C-FBAQ and has already been repaired and is back flying
Buffalo have also bought a few more Electras and also very recently a swing tail DC-6(N434TA)

Ahhh ok, watched them all on YouTube and I think season 5 is nearly or is finished filming.

They bought G-LOFC from Atlantic back in March/April I think along with spares. Left Coventry April 27.

I can hear Ringo giving it large to what Buffalo Joe says!!

Apparantly that was the last Electra flying in Europe, and all the airworthy Electras left are now in Canada.

And as an after thought the Electra that had the landing incident C-FBAQ was an old Dublin regular years ago when it was registered N356Q

Great to hear the Electra is back in the air........ Seems to be a great workhorse.

Unfortunately, C-GWIR, the DC-3 featured in Ice Pilots, was involved in a crash landing at Yellowknife yesterday. The good news is that none of the 24 on board were hurt.
