How to change to Irish EPG to get Setanta?

As I bought my Sky box second hand it defaults to a UK epg (BBC1 on 101 etc.). I've subscribed to Setanta and they've sent out a Sky card however Setanta doesn't show up on the epg. After many, MANY calls to and from Setanta and Sky I've still got a problem. Any ideas?

yes, switch off box, take out card, unplug box from wall, wait about 4 mins, now this next bit is a bit tricky, you have to make sure box has the latest software, to do this you have to plug into wall socket and at the same time hold down the power button and the backup button on the box and wait and wait, then a message appears updating software. when it finishes box will go into standby, put in card chip facing down and turn on box with remote. it will say searching for listings etc. The card may work but as setanta has to send authorization code you may have to ring them.

if this fails post back and say make model of box and what channels you an receive

When I turned it on today it has changed back to the UK epg. Any idea why?

Edit: Whenever I put in the card it changes.

i am here for a min, say make of box, is it hd or sd, have you 2 cards? and do you switch off at night, ie plug it out from wall.

Its a Sky+ HD box, Amstrad DRX890, 1 card. Yeah.

when you say put in the card? what does that mean?

i had the same problem last friday when my setanta card arrived, as my sky hd box had a uk epg it took a while for the new card to pair with the box especially as setanta irl and 1 are not on the EPG.

Really it depends who you get on the phone with setanta. I had two fruitless telephone calls last friday evening at 5.30 and 7.30 to try to get the singal in. Then at 8pm had a call from setanta who asked me to check my box and low and behold up and running.

I can pm the name of the agent who rang me back who was thoroughly efficient and new the score.
