Today is Sunday. I had 3 wisdom teeth removed last Monday. Yesterday, I finally began to feel the most normal I had ever felt since the surgery. I could eat a little more, and I eased off on medication etc. However this morning at 3am, I woke up in pain on both sides of mouth once again and then I woke up again at 8am in the same pain... I feel fine now, but am worried that is going to keep on going... Any advice? How long does this last? Should I keep taking all the medication etc.? Even when I feel okay? How long does the pain come and go (it's not ongoing, it might only be two or three short spurts throughout the day, helped by tablets etc.)? Another week? 2 weeks??? I have stuff to do and am so annoyed by all of this!! Am seeing the surgeon again tomorrow for a week-after-check-up.

Oh no,I'm getting four of mine out soon. Two are impacted, the other two are fine.I'm having it done under local anesthetic ,not sure that I want them out now, might hold off on it for another while.

Everybody is different. I got mine surgically removed and didn't even need as much as a paracetamol after.

I'm sure your dentist isn't removing them for the laugh. I'm sure there is a good medical reason for it. Even if it hurts for you, I imagine it's for the greater good.

Were you given an estimate at the consultation. GA is pretty expensive if your paying privately. Do you have health insurance?

I am not trying to be smart but if they can't tell you, how could anyone here tell you??

You can pay nothing for wisdom tooth removal on the medical card if you are willing to wait years and years....
You can pay a consultation fee and maybe a hospital co payment if you have medical insurance....
If you have no medical insurance, you could pay approx €850 for 4 wisdom teeth under IV sedation...
If you have no medical insurance, you could pay approx €2000 for 4 wisdom teeth under general anaesthesia....

Have you met the surgeon for a consultation? If so, then ring his/her secretary for this information. If you have not had any consultation, then they can't give you any specific information as they don't know...

    OS

Think I paid €250 odd to get ONE wisdom tooth out in the dental hospital in Dublin a few years ago.

    It really all depends.
Public in the dublin dental hospital for example, you pay consultation fee and approx €250 for a lower wisdom tooth removal (by a student...)
Public hospitals can also charge you money if you have no medical card, how much depends on them...

    Have you had a consultation?

where you waiting long for surgery date, i had my consultation with max-fac surgeon in the public hospital today.
i need my top two wisdom out...im being a total chicken and want GA- had a lower front incisor extracted while back and didnt have a great experience (nothing to do with dentist, she was great it was just a difficult extraction as tooth was wedged in between two other teeth) put me right off getting it done again under local.
