Apologies if this is the wrong board
I was prescribed lexapro by my gp for really mild depression on wednesday. I took the first dose on Wednesday at 5pm and on Thursday I hit a wall. I was really depressed and totally anxious. I was crying all day and thoughts were all over the place. I friday I had a panic attack and had to go to different gp who gave me xanax. He prescribed .25mg 3 times daily. They are helping thankfully.
Now just to give u a bit of my history. Ive had a good life. Nothing has happened to make me feel depressed or anxious. I suppose the usual things (life money kids etc) have stressed me out a bit. I toldthe gp that I was tired, low sex drive, snappy at kids, low concentration and thats why she prescribed me lexapro.
My question is can I stay on xanax long term rather than go on an anti d?
Will this anxiety go away, ive never experienced this in my life?
Do u think the lexapro kick started this? Im terrified of the side effect of any anti d now especially since I felt so normal before I took it.
Thanks in advance for your help
