Hi, I joined this year. My advice is get in now whilst there's no joining fee. It's a great course for the money you pay. Never get tired of playing it. Recent good weather has caused a few greens problems but they have had the experts in recently and their recommendations should have them back in tip top shape for next season. Most of the people I have come across are very friendly and welcoming. Club house is a bit dated but food there is excellent and club pro tony judd is a top bloke. Any questions let me know

what's the price of membership cost?

The entrance fee has been waived for the first 50 applicants. That's very nearly full now.

Subs are €1440 per year with €100 bar credit included.

Entrance fee is a thing of the past! If they think they can get it, dream on!

Good to hear you are happy with them though!

Is there a monthly payment plan?

I've been a member there for 15 years and the course has never been in better condition then this year. Majority of members are great lads and never an issue getting on the time sheet. Its a great time to join

I am considering Forrest Little for membership, any members interested in a game and showing me around the course?

Have played it a couple of times in scratch cups, nice course layout with a good mix of holes of varying lengths and strategies required. Nice practice facilities (especially the chipping green) but a poorly stocked proshop.
Would consider it for membership but still think €1,440 is on the expensive end. What are competition entry fees and is Sat or Sun the main competition day? Also what are the prizes like relative to the entry fees, hopefully you're not limited to vouchers for the proshop? Thanks.

I want to imrove my golf so need a closer course to home!

I have never played it but the course is close to home and will mean I would get midweek golf in summer which I never had as my current course is a 70 mile round trip!!

Can anyone answer Dr_Colossus questions without the need for contacting the club?

UPDATE: Mens comps are on Wed, Sat and Sun, €5 entry. They enter teams into all the interclub cups and shields like snr cup, jnr, cup, barton shield/cup, J Bruen, metro etc

I've always liked Forrest Little. Lovely course to play, good layout, good chances to score with a tough finishing hole. Nice membership, with some very good golfers are quite competitive in the interclubs.

If i wasnt a member of Malahide, i'd certainly have it on my shortlist of places to join.

also, entrance fees are certainly not a thing of the past, we still had one this year and had over 50 join and pay it. Membership closed for the year now, but when open again next year there will be an entrance fee again. Its a great source of income, and all ours go to capital expenses, be it clubhouse and/or course projects so they keep improveing without necessarily having to levy members.

I think it is a no brainer for me to join there, 15 mins from house, practice facilities look good and if i do join it will be my first year in 17 years golf to have the luxury of mid week golf come summer on a home course...

I played it and i really enjoyed the game i had there (even though greens were sanded). Good mix of holes.

I will be going it alone so thats a bit daunting but sure once i stick my name down each week i will get to know the members quick enough.
