Accepting Offer from UCD

In the case of getting an offer from UCD is there a need to accept your offer as early as possible? i.e. will it improve your chances of getting accommodation. The offers are out at 6:00 AM so I’m not sure if I need to accept it immediately for accommodation purposes or if I can just accept it at 1:00 PM.

    Thanks

It won't make a difference what time you accept it at. The order is going to be the same. You'll jump up the list when people who don't get offers from UCD are excluded.

"If you are offered a place in UCD by the CAO you should accept it as soon as possible. Once you have accepted your offer for UCD and the CAO office has notified UCD of your acceptance (generally this takes 48 hours) the following information applies. CAO offers accepted prior to 5 pm on 19th of August and dependent on your place on the Priority Wait list, offers to book accommodation will go out at 4pm on the 21st of August (Wednesday) to successful applicants by e-mail. At this time you will have a window of 24 hours to accept and finalise this room booking. "

From this it looks like it does matter when you accept the offer. This is what confused me.

You probably should accept it before 11 AM on Monday to allow 48 hours for CAO to notify UCD with a bit of cushion (only if you want an accommodation offer Wednesday).

Last year accommodation was meant to open on Wednesday, it opened on Friday instead. UCD's word isn't gospel, I wouldn't take that for all it's worth.

If you are going to accept a UCD offer, I suggest you do so on Monday

does that mean there is a chance we will have to be on standby watching the emails until ucd is ready? its a tricky system!
