    Yep, tomorrow starting at 11.30.

Here's a link to a piece on it from the AAI website, and here's the timetable of events.

Personally, I'll be representing Limerick AC in the 4x100 mens relay in Division 1. Both our men and women's teams are competing. It's actually my first ever race so great place to start :pac:. I only found out I'd be involved Thursday night after an injury.

Thanks :)! That is actually the part I'm most worried about :pac:. At least I'm the 1st leg so only have to worry the once.

Best of luck to any other boardsies competing tomorrow as well :).

Think I've been lumped onto a 4x1 leg also, joys of that! But can't wait for it, always a good event, number of clubs certainly up this year in the league which is great to see!

Here's a write up on the day from the AAI website. Dundrum South Dublin won the Premier Women, while Wexford won Division 1. Crusaders won the Premier Men, while Kildare won Division 1.

Here's the full results for the day for all 4 divisions.

From a personal point of view, the day went well. My leg of the relay went well and I felt (and was told after) that I had performed really well. The most important thing, of course, was that I didn't false start and got around without dropping the baton :pac:. We finished 3rd in our heat and 6th overall in our division with a time of 45.83.

Really enjoyed the day, it was great being able to watch all the other performances as well. I can't wait for my next time, although I hope to do an individual sprint or two as well then :).

Thanks for posting the link to the results deano, glad you enjoyed it. I just gave the 5000m a go. There was serious talent there today.
Even with a fast start(600m in about 2 mins flat), i was well behind the rest of the field. Luckily managed to catch someone after about a mile or so, and then another guy after another mile. Was nice to sprint the last 200m. Am just not happy with the time though. I was 40 seconds slower than what I expected. I got 17:48.63. I did a parkrun in malahide last saturday in 17:46. Would have thought the track would be significantly faster. I felt cold alot of the time while waiting for my event but in the minutes while waiting at the starting line, I felt pretty hot. Was it suddenly hot when I did my race, or could it just be anxiety and panic on my part, in which case it was just me and I can't blame the weather? I do have a tendency to get nervous around crowds and feel like I run really well in training when I don't have that worry.

There was a fairly cool breeze there for most of the early part of the day, but it definitely got warmer for a while during the latter part (I had to take off my jumper for a while) so I'd say that could be part of it. What happened with me was it was dry all morning and then right before our relay it started to rain, which was kind of annoying.

I don't have any confidence in myself when i run and feel i let my club down. I like to think it was just a period of heat when the sun came out.
That is mind boggling speed to be running on a wet track deano. I can't comprehend the speeds of you sprinters. The running I witnessed yesterday was like a completely different sport. I'm all slow twitch. I feel that anything under 10k is like a sprint lol. I must give the 100-400m distances a shot for the laugh sometime. Curious to see what times I could get, but I don't want any witnesses to see me :o

Ah, I wouldn't worry about any one else there or what they think at all. Just focus on your race and do your best, that's all that you can be asked to do. You might have had an off day yesterday and feel like you could have done better, but that happens to everyone in any sport. Everyone there yesterday was competing or were involved in a club and would know exactly how you were feeling. They'd have been cheering you on more than anything.

I can also guarantee that your club don't feel you let them down at all. I'm sure that they were delighted that that you did the race for them, especially when it sounds like it's not your natural distance. Our club was stretched kind of thin and we had a couple of guys that were doing events they normally wouldn't go near, but we were delighted they agreed to do it just so that we had someone competing. All we pretty much wanted was that they finished the event. The guy we had in your event normally only does marathons and is new to the club, but he agreed to do the event anyway, and in short notice. He actually finished behind you, but we were just delighted that he went out and did it.

The rain wasn't actually too bad in terms of running conditions, as the track was damp but there were no puddles or anything, so with spikes on it was grand. The harder part was that the baton was a bit slippy and wet, but every team got it around so it's all good :).

And definitely have a go at the sprint, even just for fun. It's a great feeling moving as fast as you possibly can. I absolutely love it :).

Cheers deano. The club has been so good to me. Getting lifts down to events, and an amazing meal after the one yesterday, as a reward for taking part. I guess I've developed club loyalty and want to return the favor by running my best.
I'm not sure if theres much room for improvement over 5k, but I think I could do well from 10k-marathon+ distances, although I plan to wait till 2016 or after before I finish a 2nd marathon.
Interesting you mention someone else in the same event. Is it just me, or do others here have a habit of looking up competitors who finish behind and ahead of you, and seeing what kind of pbs they have for other distances. I am always hopefully that the ones nearest to me have really fast times. Well they sure did in this case. Probably sounds like such an effort ;), but I guess its interesting to know who is running near your pace in a formal event like the NL finals. I know, too much spare time on my hands
