    I am tryong to create a better system of displaying the bloods for patients. I need to figure out how to read data from the databse that most hospitals here use to display the bloods. Anyone know the commands to let me do this in say visual basic or some such.
    I just want to dump .CSV files out for my patients for example...
    Thsnk you

    When I worked in Roscommon County Hospital, they had a windows program that displayed the DOS based bloods system, only hospital that I've encounter it in unfortunately. But it does mean it's out there somewhere

    I'm not sure of what exactly you're looking for but;
    Ive only ever worked with two Lab Information Management Sysmtems (LIMS) "APEX" and "WinPath". AFAIK PAS is not used for pathology reports, it looks a lot like APEX though. I know some private hospitals use other systems. These are the programmes that all pathology info is entered into, stored, etc. There are other programmes for ward enquiry or GP enquiry but they pull info from the LIMS. As well as pulling/receiving the relevant info from the LIMS any enquiry programme has to feed back that a report was received by a clinician on a certain date at a certain time.

    Every pathology department should have at least one scientist with a special interest in IT. They would be in charge of the LIMS. They would be a better source of info.
