Co-teaching maths, any tips?

    Ok I'm timetabled to share half the classes with 2 teachers (1st and 2nd yrs , two different teachers).
    Basically 2 days coteach and other two days on our own.(same setup for both years).

    It hasn't been tried before in the school (yonks ago but was disaster) so the pressure is on for it too work.

    Classes will be fairly motivated. I actually did some research on it for masters (but changed my topic!) so my thinking was that it depends on the relationship between two teachers. The teaching style in the school would be pure exam driven/ common tests etc. but teachers would be open to new styles 'a la' project maths.

    Basically whats the best way to plan for it, rather than stumbling along and ending up looking like a spare tyre?

    Cheers

    Take your first years. Do you teach them 1 day, co-teach for two days, and then the other teacher takes the fourth class?

    If that is the case. and I know this is not really helpful to you, but if it was me I would ask them could they rearrange the timetable.

    Will you be on your own for 2 days and together for 2 days? Team teaching or there will only be one teacher in the room?

    4 Classes
    A=Me
    B=Other Teacher
    2=A +B
    So thats...
    A + 2 + 2 +B

    Maybe just leaving all this logistics aside, or even the specific subject itself.

    Has anybody here ever Team-Taught/Co-Taught?

    What about one of you working with a smaller group of students who are either ahead or behind and the other working with the group in the middle.
