I just bought a 55 inch T.V. from factory choice at a cost of 861.00E incl vat and delivery.
I was wondering how long do they 'ACTUALLY' take to deliver as they are saying it will arrive within 3-5 days.
As well as does the T.V. come with a warantee and guarantee, does anyone know now as it says nothing on the website.
Also any people used this website before and had you had to pay duty or anything like that as I have searched it around and I found that it arrives from France
    Thanks

Have never used or even heard of them, but if arriving from France there would be no duty or vat to pay. Only payable on goods from outside EU.

No, I have never used it before. they're products are quite cheap.
The tv I just bought costs 1050.00 from harvey norman and I got it for 861.00 from factorychoice.ie
They gave me a contact number to call and it seems to be Irish, It is a lad who lives near Cork.
I talked to him a couple of times as I needed some info, also regarding tracking number as he said the tv was posted from France on Saturday(via ups).He said that the tv should arrive by Wednesday.
Also that the tracking number will be issued either today or tomorrow.
It seems the factory choice opening hours are only mon-fri, thats why the tracking number was not issued

Site looked dodgy to me, no address on it.

    Here are lads discussing them
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=84667878

said the prices shown exclude VAT, also could possibly be a dropshipper for pixmania.

The TV could have issues like the tuner & saorview, possibly other things to watch for on newer TVs full of bells & incompatible whistles.

I called them again today, and the lad(from Ireland) told me they would def send me the tracking number by Tomorrow and the tv should arrive by Wed, latest Thursday

If there any problems I will just report it to paypal ??.......

They had the best price for a NAS disk by a few bucks compared to Amazon.
They accepted my order and and sent me bank account detail to put the cash in (no paypal option)
    I paid.
About a week later they emailed me telling me I was to send my account details to get a refund
    I asked why?!
they said they had no stock, and would I like to wait until more came in
I told them to stuff it.
They sent money back 9 days after original order (I didn't send my details again to them)
Dont do it! Not Worth the hassle! For a few extra quid use someone reliable like Amazon.

Re FACTORY CHOICE retailer. I tried to buy a 48" TV from them last night. I registered, added the tv to the cart and went through all hoops til I got the last part, the payment. I was shocked to see that the ONLY method of payment was via BANK WIRE (Bank transfer). Needless to say I didn't proceed as there is NO protection for a buyer using this method. Also it seemes so odd that any internet retailer would only accept wire transfer.

I emailed them and also did a "live chat" and in both cases they said they "had stopped accepting Paypal or Credit Card payments so as to keep the price or goods for their customers as low as possible". Seemed utterly bizarre to me that any internet retailer would only accept wire transfer as a means of payment. As it was my first time to use them I certainly wasn't going to risk several hundred euros.

Strange they they were previously accepting Credit Card and Paypal but not now. they stil have the "Paypal Verified" logo on their site too.

Anyone else have a view or tried to buy from them recently? Anyone else think Bank/Wire transfer is ok from a buyers point of view?

You would have to wonder whether they lost those payment gateways voluntarily or otherwise. You would have to be mad to give them your bank details. Also they should be reported to Paypal.

I just discovered something very interesting regarding factorychoice.ie.

Whilst reading user reviews of their company on "pricespy" I thought I recognised a reviewers name, "Raymond Cahill". Then I remembered that when factory choice emailed me to try to explain why they only accept Bank Wire, the name on the email was one "Raymond Chaill". Yes you guessed it, the review (of course a glowing one) was a fake one not from a user but from one someone who runs or works for Factory choice. Very bad practice!! Very, very dodgy behaviour!

If you google Pricespy+FactoryChoice you will get the page in question where there are 3 reviews and the third one is by Mr Raymond Cahill. However by the time you read this his "review" may well be removed because I have emailed PriceSpy to inform them of this mattter. If there are only 2 reviews there when you visit the site then you know what's happened!

At best its a dropshipper as it is nothing but a business name and not a company (even though it states its acompnay on its T&C's)

I find it quite unbelievable that some people would hand over hundreds of euro to a site they never heard of and without any gurat=antee of service or even delivery and no contact details just to save a few quid from reputable retailers who have physical branches. Sometimes its worth an extra €100 or so for the peace of mind.
