Ford S-Max Boot Cover

Hope someone on here might own one of these and can tell me! Does anyone know would a new Ford S-Max (2012 / Titanium / Irish) as standard have come with a solid or retractable thingy to cover the boot when it's in 5-seat format? I see a useless small thingy for covering the smallest size boot (7-seat format) but nothing else.

If they don't come standard, any idea where to source one cheap or how much they are new approximately? Also can you get non-Ford brand ones?

    Thanks!

Pretty sure a luggage cover from the galaxy will fit and go right up to the middle row.

Isn't standard on any of the specifications on the S-Max in Ireland. Used to be - had a 2010 base model back recently that had one, but the 160ps Titanium Powershift that was in at the same time didn't have one.

Ford accessories listing it at €326.09, which is a touch pricey.

I'd check www.partfinder.ie to see if there are any older, crashed ones being broken. Good chance it came with 2009 models or earlier.

Nice one thanks! Wow that's a pricey accessory, why is it that all car extras always seem to cost so much!!!??? I see a good few on eBay UK but won't ship to Ireland and Parcel Motel could be messy for a package like that. Will try the partfinder thingy, but it it's not a standard accessory I'd say they're hard to come by second hand.

Don't suppose anyone has any other ideas on this one? I'm at a bit of a loss on where to get one! Have tried loads of scrappage places via that website but none of them have one. € 200+ just seems crazy to pay for a cover! Do people get kits to make simple versions of this type of thing? The boot on an S-Max looks pretty exposed and maybe not an ideal place to leave a laptop. I know there's some storage under seats but not all that much!

Have you tried getting one off a galaxy?

    Tried ebay?

Thanks was just looking now and came across these guys offering one for £ 50 which seems as cheap as I'm gonna get a reasonably new one?

You seem to know a bit about the car - any recommendations on window blinds that would cover most of rear window? I had in-built ones in door of last car which were great.

They're not cheap, but they're vehicle specific and you can use them with the window open.

Ouch that'll be the guts of € 200 for a luggage cover and shades! Guess it's a once-off investment anyway! Thanks for the suggestions!

I tried for a long time to source a luggage cover for my 08 Galaxy. I rang so many places here in Ireland and couldn't get one second hand. Very difficult to get. I go to the UK regular enough so I ended up buying a new one from Ford in Manchester. I mostly use it as a 5 seater so an I hate having anything on display in the boot.

Getting it shipped over from the UK could be pricey enough given its size and weight.

Hi, I have a ford s max 2006 titanium which came with the retractable luggage part and the cover which we have removed to install 2 rear seats instead. If anyone is interested in taking it let me know

    Interesting thread.
I went to the UK to buy our S-Max Titanium when it was a year old (2008 model) and imported it here. It was an ex-demo model just used by the dealer as a staff runabout.

Didn't notice till I git home that the boot cover was missing. Rang the dealer to complain and they discovered that the staff member driving it had forgotten he'd removed it and stored it in his garage! So they couriered it over to me in Galway at quite some expense...

Only for me to store it in the corner of my garage for the past 5 years! :p

To be honest, I've found no use for it, as with the rear privacy glass, no-one can see what's in the boot anyway...

The boot of my old car was always messy and unfortunately my S-Max dosent have privacy glass. A boot cover is a must for me.

The problem in the S-Max is that the cover is big and heavy, and there's nowhere to store it in the car when it's not in use.

So every time you want to carry something bulky, you take it out and store it somewhere at home.

And then you never put it back.

    Exactly right.

And we also use the rear row of seats from time to time, so the cover has be out of the car.

Any of you kind folks want to part with your boot covers. The Mrs just picked up a 2010 zetec without privacy glass. She's keen to have the cover. Happy to pay for it but just not the ford prices being quoted

Have mine (that I bought myself) in a company car due to be replaced early next year if you fancy waiting ~10 months! 😊

I also bought fitted privacy shades that I'll be selling then!
