sometimes people who dont bother taxing their car let the tax run out for months and then instead of back taxing it or getting the off road declaration stamped in the garda station they just change the ownership to someone else and then theres no tax owed on it

7 owners in 12 years doesn'nt mean it's a load of trouble, could be a high motor tax or low mpg car with a limited ownership period where the cost to run means it is sold on quickly. A car with a 3 litre plus engine would fall in to this category.

    Why?
Some people change after a year.

Just back frOm lOoking at it was a pile! It was supposed to have 89k miles in it but looked wrecked,
What was bothering me was a lot of owners on a low milage car and it's a 1.9 diesel so she's not gonna cost the earth to tax.

What's be bothering me more would be 89k on an 11 year old diesel.
Whatever about low mileage petrol cars, they're plausible, but 89k over 11 years is 8000 miles a year. That smells of clocking.

Thankfully you made the right decision and walked away and a better one tgats looked after will pop up.

Without even seeing it I'd have my doubts around a 12 year old diesel car with only 89k miles on the clock.
