Consumer VAT on UK goods shipped to Eire

Hi, I hope someone can clarify for me whether all is okay with this scenario. I have been searching but so far haven't found a clear answer.

I've bought goods from an online UK retailer quite a few times but only just noticed that the goods get taxed twice. Once as standard (UK) and once presumably under Irish tax.

Is this appropriate or should there be an exemption on either side?

Here is a transcript of an invoice, just to be clear as to what I mean.

    Ex VAT Inc VAT
    Item 107.85 129.42
    Carriage 10.49 12.59

    Sub Total 118.34
    VAT 23.67 <---- ?
    Total 142.01

Some light on this would be really appreciated.

It's not even the right tax band for the goods in question, it should be 21.5% I believe, not 20% as above.

P.S. Sorry for the formatting, the plugin doesn't appreciate spaces.

    Seems Fine to me

    Ex VAT amounts of 107.85 + 10.49 = 118.34

    Add UK Vat 20% 23.67

    = 142

OK thanks, I completely misread the invoice. The original formatting put me off.

Seriously embarrassing! Admin please delete... XD
