Just wondering if anybody has any good ideas for creep gates. I don't want to just lift a wire, and I find with a creep feeder it's only a few calves that use it. Oh ya, and I don't want to spend a fortune on gates either:o

What works and what doesn't? How do you get calves started?
    Thanks.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

seperate the cows and calves for afew days and give the calves some sweets and nice grass, they will remember after a few days whats up when you call them

A bucket fed calf running with them will bring them out under wire to nuts or through a gap. You can then feed/head how much you want. Fence off a corner of the field after a while and feed nuts/ration there. The bucket fed calf will bring them where ever you want.

Would agree with Farmer Pudsey.....for next year....get them eating a few calf pencils in the spring before you let them out and that helps a lot.

Does a strand of electric write 1m high work to keep the cows back?
