    Hi,

I'm torn between getting a laptop that can play games or a desktop which can along with a cheap notebook for college to do the essentials. It seems there is far better bang for your buck with a desktop as the laptop graphics cards seem to be week and extremely overpriced, anyhow:

    1. What is your budget? €600

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? Gaming, have to play the new Rome II Total war game when it comes out, as well as previous total war games and 1st person shooters such as Team Fortress 2, Counterstrike source & Left for dead 1/2 would be a bonus. Ideally I'd like a reasonably sized HD for storing Videos also.

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows? Yes; I've heard Windows 7 is better for gaming and those already used to Windows?

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? No

    5. Do you need a monitor? Yes but it's old, 19' Samsung: I realise 600 isn't a lot to play around with so I'm happy to use this if needs be but could probably do with a new one.

5a. If yes, what size do you need. 21' (see above)

5b. If no, what resolution is your current monitor and do you plan to upgrade in the near future?
Not sure I'll edit this once I check it out.

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals? Keyboard, Mouse, Wireless Card

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking? I know nothing about this so I'd rather not but if it makes a huge difference I'd give it a shot assuming there is some sort of guide I can read about it.

    8. How can you pay? Visa Debit preferably could do a bank transfer if I must.

    9. When are you purchasing? Within the next two weeks

    10. If you need help building it, where are you based? North County Dublin but I want to to come pre built, I understand there is a 20 euro option for this on one of the sites yous recommend, so this is a must.

    Thanks a million
