just finished a bsc Hons in cyber security to add to a postgrad in cloud and h.dip in web technologies.
I'm now looking for my first security job. I've a year looking after cloud services, hosting and support issues.

how do I get a break?

doh! everything is 20,years experience and wanting you to know 20 program languages. slight exaggeration but you get the drift.

Surely you have some programming experience? Perl, python, ruby, javascript, html?

What exactly do you want to do? Security is a big field.

Amazon Security Operations Engineer looks like a pretty decent fit assuming you have at least one scripting language experience, and you understand TCP/IP, HTTP etc. which presumably you do.

You'll be lucky to go straight into any sort of decent pure security role. Most people who are employing security engineers want to see someone who has a bit of rounded experience - e.g. sysadmin/IT audit/application development experience. Good security people need that bit of experience to be able to do their jobs properly, because security is as much about learning to spot dangerous things than it is "doing security".
