can primary teacher travel?

    hi guys just wondering, i well exceeded what i thought i was going to get in the leaving and i am almost 100% i got teaching. just wondering can primary school teachers travel e.g move to australia or america or are they stuck here?

    I thought commerce and Spanish was your number one choice so how would you be able then to receive an offer for primary teaching. To answer your question yes the new four year bachelor in education is recognised in other countries so a graduate teacher would be able to teach outside of Ireland.

    No you aren't stuck in Ireland, you can indeed travel.

    But my advice to you is that if you can get a job in Ireland before you travel, do so, as you'll be able to get your diploma done and dusted.

    Another point to consider is that if you have your diploma and you teach in a school abroad that is state inspected, and if you decide to return to Ireland you will be allowed to gain increments of up to five years (as far as I remember) from the DES.
