Sorry I forgot about that. Its 3 hours of maths.

'maths teacher required to take a LC Ordinary level class for 5 periods a week, one period a day.'

And it's jobs like this that make CID after 3 years utterly useless.

While you'll always have the person who'd have 'bitten off their hands' for this opportunity they will probably have severe difficulty filling it. This is typcially the kind of thing for which they'd recall a retired teacher living locally. For most people it would cost them money to do the job. If I was not employed I would not apply for that job to be honest.

And I am sure there is no existing teachers in the school not on full hours who could actually teach three hours of maths????

On the face of it it looks appalling.

I feel sorry for them trying to fill that position . Even if had been over three days and they could get JSA for the other two. That's tough. I had six leaving cert maths classes a week , that seems short ?

We had a job like this last year for an exam class. First teacher employed bailed mid september to take a job with more hours. Replacement teacher started in october and for students of an exam year is not ideal.

It really disheartens people who are looking for jobs. Whatever about getting half hours or job share or something but taking a job that is ~ 1/7 of the full time position they are after just shows the appealing state this profession is in.

It'll get filled. Someone will take it and hopefully their hours will get bumped up with whatever can be thrown their way

    What school is it?

Fair play to the school though, it would be an awfully lot easier for them to just get a retired teacher or a teacher unqualified for Maths to cover the hours on the QT, they're clearly trying to do it properly.

And at least they're upfront about the attendance each day, f you go for that you'll know what youre getting.
