    I was at Saturday's show. First time in Duxford and I enjoyed it. Highlights for me were the B25 Mitchell, Aerostars and the B748

    How do you get to Duxford from Stansted? Do you need a car?

    Train to Cambridge. Then free shuttle bus to and from show

    Stansted (SSD) to Cambridge stn.(CBG) by rail and then free bus outside the station to Duxford on show days, no.7 bus other days.
    Stansted to Whittlesford Parkway stn.(WLF) and 25 min. walk to museum can often be quicker if you are flying in that morning.

    Dubs and Corkonians can make a day trip of it with an early flight to Stansted and then book a taxi from the museum at the show's end back to Stansted (22 miles) at 5.30pm for the last plane home.
    I went for the two days, the weather Sunday was a bit crap but it was well worth it for the Arrows and PdeF.

    B-17 Flying Fortress Sally B
    * Boeing 747-8F flypasts (Saturday only)
    Spitfire IX
    Spitfire IXT
    Spitfire I
    Spitfire V
    Spitfire V
    Spitfire IX
    Hispano Buchon (Messerschmitt Bf 109)
    Bearcat
    * The Red Arrows – Hawk x 9 (Sunday only)
    * Patrouille de France – Alpha Jet x 8
    * Lancaster, Spitfire, Hurricane
    Hurricane
    Dragon Rapide (Saturday only)
    * Typhoon
    Tucano (Sunday only)
    Sea King (Sunday only)
    Extra 330SC
    Aerostars – Yak-50 x 6 (Saturday only)
    F-86 Sabre
    Piper Cub (trailer top landing)
    T-28 Fennec (Sunday only)
    T-28 Fennec (Sunday only)
    CT-133 Silver Star
    Vampire FB.6
    Vampire T.55
    B-25 Mitchell
    Grumman Wildcat
    Le Vier Cosmic Wind (Saturday only)
    Bucker Jungman (Saturday only)

    PdeF and F86 pilots had a sickie and one T28 went tech on Saturday but PdeF gave a great performance Sunday.
    All aircraft gave outstanding displays but the Aerostars, B25 and the Extra 330 really did it for me.
    I'm surprised more paddies don't attend Duxford, it's proximity to Stansted makes it very easy to reach, the place is usually crawling with continentals.
    When FR were doing early flights from EIKY I was usually able to make it to the museum's ticket desk by 11.30am via WLF stn.

    Didn't go to the airshow but I really want to see the museum some time this year. The list of stuff there looks great.

    Give yourself a full day to see it, Duxford also houses the IWM Land Warfare and the Parachute Regt. museums.
    Cambridge city is a wonderful place to visit but now that the YHA is closed for renovation, affordable, reasonable quality accommodation is non-existant.
    While you're close to London try and visit the RAF museum at Hendon for another great day out, http://www.rafmuseum.org.uk/london/.
    It's about a 10 min. walk from Colindale tube station.

    Anytime i have gone to Duxford i usually spend the Saturday going through the museums{which are brilliant) and spend the Sunday goin round the trade stands and finish up with the airshow. I always go to the last one of the season which is in October and the weather is always good or has been for the last four years or so anyway.
    Next year i hope to make Flying Legends which i hear is really good.

    The first time i went to Duxford which was back in the late 90's a group of us also went up to see the evening show in Old Warden where the Shuttleworth Collection is based. Its only on rare occasions both Duxford and Old Warden clash but its well worth while taking in the evening show there. All there collection starts from the Edwardian era up to WW11,and their museums are great,everything from cars, tractors,bikes to the planes. Well worth a visit but its a good drive from Cambridge.
