    Hi, first post on boards.ie.
I have been offered a place in both the MA in Business Management in the University of Limerick, and the MSc in Business Management in NUI Maynooth and I need to pick one by tomorrow.

Has anyone out there done either of these courses? Any feedback would be great, e.g. jobs received upon completion, what the course is like, difficulty, etc. I see some posts on the UL course but none for NUIM. One thing I dont really like about the one in NUIM is that it's taught in the Glenroyal hotel, not on campus, and also the amount of PBL group work.

    Please advise
    Cheers

I did the MSc in NUIM, the Glenroyal is great for the "executive feel".

The teamwork is really good - the assignments are very much in-depth, much more so than undergrad stuff, so you'll be working with them a lot. They use peer-review systems so anyone who doesn't pull their weight will be penalized. expect a good bit of speaking up and one or two presentations.

Individual assignments again are very in-depth, although you're only in 2 days every fortnight you'll be working a lot of your time "off":). You'll get a good grounding in all aspects of general business, plus some economics and finance.

The business research project in the third semester pairs you with a company to work on a specific problem for them, so when you go into interviews later on you have a proven track record of problem solving, teamwork etc. The thesis is then 30,000 words. Sounds like a lot but once you get into it you'll wish the word count was more:P

    I loved it!

I've applied for it in UL too, would love to hear how it went for you if you get the time? Thanks

I thought it was a really good masters course which covered a good mix of Business related subjects. It also looks good on the CV and the majority of people from the course all got employment soon after finishing.
The course doesn't specialise in any subjects which allows you to apply for various jobs from HR to Finance, Operations, Marketing etc.
Overall an interesting course with good lecturers and employment opportunities while UL is a great college

    Hi!

I’m doing this course in September and I was just wondering could you tell me how many hours/days per week you had? I’m thinking of commuting but it wouldn’t be worth it if I’m in five long days a week.

Also any general tips or advice for the course would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!
