Breakup anger

I was in an LDR with an american guy for the past year and a half. Mid July I decided that I needed a break from this whole situation to which he said that was no problem. Just some breathing space from the constant contact etc. After about 5 days, we spoke again and decided to end things. That was three weeks ago and now he's just posted on fb that he is in a new relationship. Now, I honestly don't believe he cheated on me but in the space of four days (between breaking up and skyping again to chat) he completely changed. He had obviously met the new girl at this point but is he not being a bit insensitive by blasting this relationship all over facebook?

I've been tempted to 'like' the new relationship status because he can't remove that unless he removes the whole post. If I write on the wall, he can delete it. Do I write him an angry email? Do I send a text? Should I just leave it? I want him to know I've seen it and I want him to know Im annoyed.

I also considered asking one of my male friends to be in a fake relationship with me on fb because I know that this particular person would really get at him. It may sounds stupid to do that but I know that it would hurt him.
So do I do something to get at him? Or be the bigger person?

But he didnt dump you, you asked for space and then you mutually agreed to break up? I'd think Id be more likely to agree with you if he dumped you. Please dont fake a relationship to get at him either, get on with your own life and if it bothers you block his posts so you cant see what he's doing.

Why are you even Facebook friends with him of you cannot handle it?

Just de friend him / block him or whatever.

I don't see what the problem is. You asked for space. You got it. Then, it was mutually agreed to break up. Your ex now seems to have moved on. The relationship may or not be genuine. Who knows? And why should you care if you've broken up??

But it's very immature and childish of you to set up a fake relationship to make him jealous. Why? I have the feeling you aren't too sure about the break up and are having second thoughts. Or maybe you don't want the guy, but don't want anyone else to have him either. Who knows??

Just delete the guy from your life, and move on.

He did nothing wrong. We all move on at different speeds, he seemingly didn't cheat, and he's met someone after you broke up.

If you can't handle seeing it, delete him from your Facebook page. Why would you even consider writing him an angry message when he's done nothing wrong? Or something so passive aggressive as 'liking' his relationship status or faking one of your own?

If you do any of the things you suggest in the OP you will look ridiculous and petty.

For all you know he's doing it to get a reaction from you.

Just walk away with your dignity. Some people jump into relationships again that quickly but they rarely last. Leave him to it.

You really can't have your cake and eat it too OP. Delete him from Facebook and get on with having exactly what you asked for.

So do I do something to get at him? Or be the bigger person?

Apologies for being blunt OP but, unless you're 15 years old, you know the answer to that question
