Hi this is probably a stupid question but how can I upload a passport size photo for my ID card? Does this mean I need to go get a passport photo taken also I don't have a printer/scanner at home, any help with this would be appreciated, thanks :)

can you upload a pic to photobucket or the like, and resize it to suit?

    Five questions down http://www.nuigalway.ie/registration/regfaq1st.html
also if you get it to work they will elongate it, squish in your face..it will not look like you whatever picture you have so i wouldnt go through the hassel! (unless its compulsory now) if so id get the photo done in a shop so they can put it on a disk..then you should be able to upload it easier...or you go to the desk the day you're collecting the card so they can put it on for you( tis what my friend did many moons ago anyway)

You can use a digital camera, transfer the file to your computer, and then upload your photo during NUIG's online registration process. Word of warning, your finished ID photo may not look like you, on my own ID my neck has been stretched like a giraffe's, for others they been stretched horizontally, and for a lot of ID's they're heavily shaded. Not to worry though, laughing at other people's ID photos has been a source of slight amusement for all NUIG students since they introduced them.
    Welcome to the club. :)

I done my pic by taking a picture of myself on webcam and it was fine :)

From experience, no matter how nice the photo is, or how well sized you think it is, SID (Student Information Desk), who are in charge of the cards, will ALWAYS stretch and distort the hell out of them :P:P

Can you send in any picture of your face? They will resize it to the required size? In colour I guess?

Make sure you size the photo to exactly what the site prompts you to use. The amount of people with Alien like cards is hilariously high! It only takes a few minutes, you'll be looking at the car for a number of years so it's worth it.

The problem is that the site doesn't seem to give dimensions, just file size. So it's impossible to know whether you're going to end up with alien head or not

That said, I have my brother's card beside me, and the picture is 25mm wide and 37mm high. So if you can get the same height to width ratio on your uploaded photo it should turn out okay (I think).
