Looking at this, it is amazing how much services have improved from just a year and a half ago.

We have jumped from 6 services a day to 33 services a day

I would also add a note that I would take the x8 schedule with a pinch of salt, with it regularly arriving 40 to 50 minutes late!

It might also be worth noting that all Gobe services have a toilet on board, some Aircoach service do, but certainly not all and no x8 services have a toilet on board.

It is a pity Aircoach don't also have an 8pm ex-Cork departure. That would get you into Dublin for 11pm, in time for the last Dublin Buses/Dart/Luas to complete your journey home and would also help fill the gap between their 7pm and 11pm service.

I don't know why Bus Éireann didn't introduce their own non-stop services once the motorways were complete.

You're right about an 8pm ex-Cork service and there's probably also demand for a 17.30 departure

I am trying to understand the point of this thread?

Why not put every timetable in the country here?

That is what www.a-b.ie is for!!!

I don't know why Bus Éireann didn't introduce their own non-stop services once the motorways were complete.

GoBus and Aircoach both applied for and were rewarded licenses for direct non stop services.

I believe the NTA have a policy of only two hourly operators per route (one every 30 minutes), so once Aircoach and GoBus got their license, BE couldn't get a similar license. It is the same reason BE have no direct service to Galway (GoBus and Citylink have those licenses).

To illustrate the massive increase in Cork-Dublin coach services...

Irrelevant, since that's not the point of this thread...

But I still don't see the need to start publishing timetables on Boards.ie - it's a discussion board not a timetable listing site. And even if it was, why only show one direction?

We all know how the numbers of coaches have risen dramatically - there are numerous posts in several threads about it.

The x8 service is being revised http://www.buseireann.ie/news.php?id=1352&month=Aug

Will Portlaoise and Urlingford being dropped from the timetable(will they still stop at Josephines?) make any real difference to the times considering the current 6pm from cork regularly gets to Busáras at 10.05pm making it 35-40 minutes late.
