Cycling - new bike

    Hi,
I have been cycling for years but want to upgrade my current just a normal everyday bike to a more professional one. I want a road bike that can help me increase my fitness and distance. May want to compete in competitions but we'll see how it goes. Was wondering if anyone would have any advice for me or any websites that would be selling them? I would want to buy either a second hand one or a cheap one that hasn't been used that often. My budget is around 500-800 euro and I am 5'6 and a little bit!
    Thanks! :)

Trek 1.1 would be around the €720 mark, and an excellent starter road bike IMO.

Triban 5 even better with new Sora setup. £430 in Decathelon in Belfast but they are hard to get. This exact bike won a £500 group test in this month's Cycling Plus mag - they said it was as good as a £750 bike.
