    Hi Folks,

I was thinking of getting my kitchen cabinets painted.

Should I go with spray paint or hand painted option?

Also could you PM me the names of people you have used to do such a painting job?

    Regards,

One thing is make 100% sure they're free of grease and oils and completely prepped.
I know one person who just painted them and basically wrecked a whole kitchen.

Definitely worth doing your research or hiring a pro for this kind of thing.

If you can pm me i will send you on the details of a guy who did mine. I am very happy with it, it looks like a new kitchen. I did my research and spray painting gives a better finish and it will last longer due to the resin in the paint. It cost 1,000 euro with paint. I did a few other changes , a new press and took down some spindles etc this was a little extra. Then i put in a new quartz counter top which is fab. I do know of another really nice guy that willl do the whole lot but he was too expensive for me , i can give you his name too. Go with a really nice paint from colourtred as they have lovely white neutral shades.

I have seen a brush effect finished kitchen that looked way better than a sprayed one, (a better finish and it will last longer due to the resin in the paint) I am not so sure it would last as long but how long is long. If the doors are well prepped with primer and two finished coats I would say it will last as long before it looks unclean and needs re-doing ???? That is a brushed finish. Cost wise it may be a little cheaper but not a whole lot.

I did mine myself (cos I was broke), it was a bog standard laminate shaker style kitchen...
    A really good spray degreaser..
BIN primer (a pain to use but it worked)
Two coats of water based eggshell
Brushed on the BIN don't sand, then used a small gloss roller to put on the eggshell and sanded between coats...
It's not bad ... But takes time ...
