Taxation of Rental Income from Foreign property.

We are considering renting out a foreign property which was originally purchased using an equity draw down loan against our irish home. When considering the residual tax liability on rental income earned on the foreign property do the same rules regarding offsetting expenses etc apply as would apply to a domestic rental ? ... Will interest on the loan used to purchase the property be allowable against the income stream ?.
Any advice would be appreciated (or a pointer towards another similar thread )
