We had hoped that my partner would be working by now but hasnt been able to find anything, am i able to claim it even just for the six months untill i go back to work? I dont get paid by my job so i will be just recieving pay from the state, also its a two bedroom were renting will that matter? Its necessary as the babys due in november

I don't think you would as you'll still technically be employed by that company and you'll be assessed on those wages. Unless you earn minimum wage, I don't think you'll get anything unfortunately. Though I'd go down to the local CWO if I were you just to be completely sure of everything you're entitled to.
