Windows Update problems

    Have Microsoft Updates become unstable?

In June 2013 after a Vista Windows Update on my laptop a Roxio Creator package did not work. A system restore to a point before the Update allowed the Roxio to work again.

In July 2013 a Windows 7 Update disabled a newly installed graphics card in my desktop. I removed the new card and did a system restore. When I put the card back it worked fine.

Are these problems just a concidence or does the Update process destabilise the System?

I never had a problem with Updates before now.

an update caused a third party program to stop functioning

another update caused an issue with a new GPU and presumably it had the latest drivers

I mean its not exactly indicative of a systematic problem with the windows updater
