I imagine there will be dedicated live threads for Wales v Ireland and England v Scotland, but I thought it might be worthwhile to have a thread following the other internationals that take place today. There are a couple of interest.

    Japan 2 Uruguay 4

That one's a result and it looks like it was a great game. Suarez got on the scoresheet for Uruguay and also provided an assist for Diego Forlan, who bagged himself a brace. Shinji Kagawa got one of the goals for Japan. Pick of the goals was a late free-kick consolation for Japan by Keisuke Honda. All goals here:

    Chile vs Iraq

I'll mention this one because it's just kicked off on Eurosport for anyone interested. Cardiff's record signing Gary Medel is playing, as is Alexis Sanchez. Both these sides met in the World u-20 tournament earlier this summer and Iraq won that meeting. Chile currently lead 1-0 thanks to a brilliant goal from Eugenio Mena of Santos.

    Sweden vs Norway

A Scandinavian derby so to speak and obviously we are battling the Swedes for second place so it will be interesting to see how they get on. It's the first time these two have met in eight years.

    Austria vs Greece

And here we have the other one of our big rivals for the play-off spot. Doesn't look a very exciting game on paper, but the Greeks did do us in during a friendly in Dublin last November so we might learn a bit from this one on how the Austrians are shaping up.

    Bosnia vs USA

This one is live on Eurosport tonight at 8 p.m. The Americans are in good form uner Klinsmann going for their 12th consecutive win, but Bosnia are going to be a tough test for them.

    Germany vs Paraguay

We can't really call the Germans group rivals realistically, but it's worthwhile keeping an eye on how they're getting on. Joachim Low is set to field a strong side against Paraguay and it's the first time these sides have met since the 2002 World Cup when Germany won 1-0. This match is live on ESPN with kick-off at 17:45.

    Italy vs Argentina

This looks a very tasty one. No Balotelli or Messi but seeing as Italy haven't beaten Argentina since the '82 World Cup, they should be well fired up for this one.

    Switzerland vs Brazil

This one is live on BT Sport at 17:45. Scolari has picked the same Brazil squad that won the Confederations Cup and Brazil are looking to take their unbeaten run to 12 games.

    Belgium vs France

Could be a great one, this. France's Geoffrey Kondogbia is attracting a lot of interest following his performances at the u-20 World Cup and he is the main squad now.

    Portugal vs Netherlands

Looks like another tasty fixture. Big talking point around this game has been Van Gaal's decision to drop Sneijder from the squad as he doesn't think him fit enough or in good enough form.

    Ecuador vs Spain

Always interesting to see how Spain get on. I'm guessing Ecuador might do a tribute to Christian Benitez in this one.

Other games (not including Wales v Ireland or England v Scotland):

    FT South Korea 0-0 Peru

    FT Kazakhstan 1-0 Georgia

    Belarus vs Montenegro

    Azerbaijan vs Malta

    Estonia vs Latvia

    Finland vs Slovenia

    18:00 Moldova vs Andorra

    18:30 Luxembourg v Lithuania

    19:00 Colombia v Serbia

    19:00 Romania v Slovakia

    19:00 Turkey v Ghana

    19:00 Ukraine v Israel

    19:15 Liechtenstein v Croatia

    19:15 South Africa v Nigeria

    19:30 Hungary v Czech Republic

    19:45 Albania v Armenia

    19:45 Macedonia v Bulgaria

    19:45 Poland v Denmark

    20:45 Iceland v Faroe Islands

    Aug 15, 00:30 Venezuela v Bolivia

    Aug 15, 02:00 Mexico v Ivory Coast

    Sorry, I missed a few. :o

Sanchez just made it 2-0 to Chile with a nice goal.

Edit: Sanchez adds a second for 3-0. Feel bad for Iraq here the way this is going.

4-0 now. Nice assist from Sanchez for Beausejour. Not even half-time yet.

5-0 just before half-time. Sanchez set it up beautifully. I wonder if Barca are prepared to let him go because he's looking great, although admittedly the opposition know they are beaten now.

The problem isn't so much Sanchez, it's that he tries too hard to play the Barca way and he looks entirely incapable of doing it on a regular basis.

6-0 to Chile now. Angelo Henriquez with the goal. Nice to see Bryan Rabello involved. He looks a great prospect.

Wasn't that quite an under-strength side, though? This one looks pretty formidable. I expect them to win it in the end.

The Swiss have a tidy enough team. Lichtsteiner, Shaqiri, Xhaka, Inler, Dzemaili, does Hakan Yakan still play for them ;)

Indeed they do. Inler is on the bench though , likewise Sommer. They'd be starting for me. Perhaps the former has a knock I'm unaware of.

Negredo has given Spain the lead against Ecuador.

Switzerland have beaten Brazil 1-0. That's a big upset as Brazil were on a great run.

Delighted for Lorenzo to score. If Julio Cesar doesn't get a move he'll look like Bobby Soprano next summer. Macca just won't let his old hairstyle go.

The Portugal - Holland game, at least the last 30 mins or so on which I've been watching is an example on how to be utterly inept in the final third.

Also, where was this Robben in last seasons CL Final! :(

It's inevitable that the minute he puts on a Sunderland shirt he will turn into a completely different player, scoring about 2 goals next season :pac:

In all seriousness though, if he puts in similar performances for us then we're on to a good thing. Hard to believe he's only 23!
