Hi bit of an unusual one here, can anyone tell me how you would find out the date a house was built/constructed other than having the deeds?

the usual methods are, going from most recent to oldest:

    1. a date stamp in the windows
    2. planning permission / commencement notice details
    3. year stamp on ESB meter

other than that its up to you to suggest a year of construction and be able to back it up.
Always default to worst 'guesstimate' value as thats what an auditor will do.

For example if a house is mass solid concrete walls, its unlikely to be pre 1900 so a guesstimate would be 30's / 40's (always default to the worst)
