Birthday celebration soon and looking for restaurant recommendation along the dart line. Coming from Greystones and don't want to go farther than dun laoghaire.
Food types are either Thai / Indian / Seafood.
Looking for good food and goo atmosphere. Thanks.

For Seafood Hartleys in Dun Laoghaire, right beside the dart station. Really nice and classy restaurant.

The Purty Kitchen just beside Monkstown & Salthill station? http://www.purtykitchen.com/

Actually in Monkstown there are a good few restaurants.

For Thai, the Thai House in Dalkey
In Dalkey you also could try the Magpie Inn http://www.magpieinn.ie/
Wrights Dispensary for Tapas with a good few fish dishes http://dalkeydispensary.ie/

I haven't yet eaten in it but Kathmandu in Dalkey is Nepalese or you could eat in Rasam in Glasthule for a very nice fancy Indian

In Glasthule you also have Weafer and Cooper and of course Cavistons if you want something very fancy and it's all about the fish there, and then there's odells too.

What about Bray? Not too far, loadsa nice restaurants, and usually a good atmosphere in the pubs down the seafront if you were to head for a drink after, The Baracuda does good seafood, and the Ocean is quite nice too! Both have good value early birds.

Mount Everest of Kathmandu is Indian/Tibetan/Nepalese really big menu and also a good value early bird also there is The Crown of India, which opened recently havent been yet but looks nice and there menu seem a little different than a typical indian! Both are on the main street.

I'd also recommend Pe We Ton on the Quinnsboro road, Its Chinese but has a few Thai choices, really nice restaurant and awesome interior! Best chinese in Bray imo!

Rasam (Indian) in Glasthule, I just checked on Tripadvisor and it's ranked #1 of 45 restaurants in the Dun Laoghaire area. It's ideal for a birthday bash because it's above the Eagle House pub so you can meet up & have a few drinks downstairs and then go upstairs for the dinner.

It's been a long time since I've eaten there, they don't do lunch, otherwise I'd probably be there once a week. Reviews on Tripadvisor suggest they've kept up their standards since I was there last.

Come out of Sandycove & Glasthule Dart station to the main road, turn right and the Eagle House pub is about 250m along that road on a corner on the right, junction of Adelaide road.

Haha booked Rasam. Had never heard of it and after looking at the menu decided to give it a try.
    Thanks.

    Good choice.

Although they aren't connected, the Eagle House also does very good Indian cuisine, but the setting isn't as formal as Rassam.

Yeah Rasam actually say on their menu that's on display - We do not supply the Eagle House!

I think people thought they were getting food from Rasam by eating in the Eagle House at half the price (or even less when they were doing the vouchers). That said, the Indian food in the Eagle House is very good too.

The chef in the Eagle House used to be the chef in Rasam I believe. He is very good and a lovely guy. I think he trained in one of the Oberoi hotels.

While we're on the subject though, apparently the eagle house is under new management and their Indian menu is no more.

Ah that's a real pity, loved the Indian food there.
