    No browser

Apps are pre-installed, get updated when software updates come from UPC

No. You see they don't want too many people to want the Horizon box. A browser on it would make the apps section much more useful and the box more desirable ;):D

No, but some of the apps are handy - Wikitivia (aka Wikipedia), Youtube, Twitter etc. If they added an email app it'd be handy.

Some of the apps (e.g. The Journal, The Score) don't work well as they lack image/video support, and lots of the articles are more-or-less just links to images/videos.

I can see why they wouldn't put a browser on the box, all it would do is open the floodgates for people moaning about lack of Flash/Java/whatever support when they try to access websites.

Don't write me off as an apologist for UPC by the way, there are lots of faults with the Horizon box and I've filled in all the feedback surveys they asked me to do when I had the box on trial highlighting the many issues I had with it and where I felt it was inferior to the old box but I'm with them on the 'no browser' strategy.

I have a web browser on both my Philips TV and Sony Blu-Ray player and they are both useless.

    Horizon supports flash
I suggested to them to bring out a web browser app and asked was it possible
Was told yes it's possible and something they will possible do later once they sort out other problems

When this would happen god knows but the horizon have full support for a web browser app
Lets wait and see as I doubt that's the most high on the list that's needed now
More better to work on software fixes and hardware fixes
