    Hi all,

Looked at a slurry tank , a star 1500 on 26.1 wheels. Approx when were these manufactured?
1500g is approx 7.5t of slurry. I often pull 10t of gravel on a single axle trailer without brakes. WIth the slurry once its full it shouldnt be any harder than the 10t to slow down right , considering the slushing effect. Tractor has 4wd braking and also would be doing maybe 20 loads a year on the road, so not to many and id be in no hurry.

    All input welcome

There was lots of referance to star tankers on the old british farming fourm... Apparently they have a reputation for imploding due to lack internal reinforcment. .

Best find another tanker for yourself!

Star are out of that business now for what must be 15 years or so which is another factor to take into account.

It doesn't sound like you are doing the brakes of your tractor many favours either....

What price is it btw? Afew nice 1600gls 2nd hand tankers on DD over the last month or so for reasonable money (3/4grand), some of the dealers quoted me mental money to trade up my 1100gls to a 1600 so I hungon to it, but might try buy/sell privately instead.
