    Hi,

Anybody doing club spins from Wexford town this Sat/Sun morning ? Down that way for a few days holidays and looking for a spin at a decent training pace (aware that most local who race are probably doing the 2 day but no harm in trying).

Wexford Wheelers usually do but, as you stated, the Wexford 2 Day is on. Any club members turning up at the Bullring to ride will be in trouble for not helping out at the racing instead!

Any other Sunday, 0930, Bullring, you'd be welcome.

Thanks but it is only this weekend for this year that I'll be there. Will do my own thing so.

Wexford - Kilmore Quay - Duncormick - Wellingtonbridge -Saltmills - Fethard - Ring of Hook and back is a nice spin out that way if you haven't done it before.

Yeah that's definitely a nice route. Nice views, and the roads are middling. It's basically the Tour of Wexford sportive route - http://www.strava.com/activities/72107263. To go to Kilmore just turn right at Wellingtonbridge, up behind the supermarket.

Alternatively, you can go straight down to Kilmore and then go East and go over towards Carne (Like here, but I didn't go all the way down to Kilmore http://www.strava.com/activities/50267234). Views are great, the roads are a bit worse but also a good bit quieter.

If you're just looking for fast roads though, you have either the N25 or N11. Normally you could zip over to New Ross and back, but the 2 day is on the N25 so there could be disruption. Here's a very decent route on the N11 though, the Wheelers cover it frequently (http://www.strava.com/activities/62273305)

I recommend avoiding the roads east of the N11, at least up as far as Enniscorthy. No views and very mucky when it's a bit wet like it is now, also busy and narrow.

Here's a good route up to Mt. Leinster if you like climbing - http://www.strava.com/activities/68731199

    Thanks Guys,

Weather permitting will be down there for a few days and have a couple of routes together based on above ideas.

    Paul.

The markings for the recent tour of wexford are still visible, if you don't fancy the whole thing as you head towards Arthurstown on the duncannon line youll see them and you can pick up the route. Look for w sprayed on the road.

    Did

From point where battery died went to Wellington bridge and straight back. Nice scenery around Kilmore Quay and Cullenstown and enjoyed the push from Wellington to Wexford (good surface and tailwind).

Saw markings alright, they're still clear.
