    Source: Wrestlezone.

    WWE Smackdown
    Air Date: August 16, 2013

-Bray Wyatt came out and sat in his chair to kick off Smackdown. He cut a promo on Kane, who came out from behind. The Wyatt Family attacked him, getting the upper hand.

    (1) Christian def. Damien Sandow via pinfall with a roll-up.

-Alberto del Rio came out and told Christian he would never win the world championship again. He tried for the cross arm breaker, but Christian countered and took him out with the Killswitch.

-Rob Van Dam is backstage. He will face the Shield tonight, with Big Show and Mark Henry.

    (2) AJ Lee & Layla def. Kaitlyn & Natalya.

    (3) Rob Van Dam, the Big Show & Mark Henry def. The Shield. Big Show got the win with the KO Punch on Ambrose, and a Five Star Frog Splash from RVD.

-Ryback beat up a backstage official.

    (4) The Miz def. Jack Swagger. The ref threw Zeb Colter and Antonio Cesaro from ringside, and Miz rolled up Swagger for the win.

    (5) Curtis Axel def. Zack Ryder.

-Paul Heyman talked about CM Punk after Curtis Axel's win.

    (6) Daniel Bryan def. Wade Barrett. This was a No DQ match, and Vince McMahon came out to pull the referee from the ring, and bring down Brad Maddox. Bryan put Barrett through a table, and Triple H came down to the count the 1-2-3.

-Randy Orton had a stare-down with Daniel Bryan to end Smackdown.

Orton cashing in on Cena or Bryan at SS is being made way too obvious so if he does cash in let him lose or let it happen next night on Raw

Where is Rhodes surely some more build for his match with Sandow at SS would have been good

Bryan and RVD/Show/Henry stuff sounds good.

Sick of Wade Barrett at this stage though.

Bryan Alvarez couldn't contain himself in posting on his forum and then mentioning on his podcast that he sees DOOM for The Shield and many more jobs. Apparently they have heat again or something.

Seems like we may see the Shield lose the belts at Summerslam. Henry and Show as tag champs might be a good idea given both have or have had injuries in the recent past. RVD is hot character and is Wrestling well currently.

I'm bringing my son to a live show in November in either Ireland or the UK... what are the differences between WWE Live, Raw and Smackdown shows? Which is the best to go to? Thanks.

If Show and Henry win the belts from Roman and Reigns they have to call their tag team 'Big 'n' Strong'.

    They have to. :D:pac:

Ugh the only sense it makes to put the belt on the Morbegs is that they have F**k all face teams at present.

There's a theme song that's going to be stuck in my head for the rest of the day.

Loving the idea of Henry/Show teaming up.

You NEED to watch the Shield six man for match quality reasons primarily and Bryan-Barrett for "tone" heading into Summerslam reasons - will get what I am talking about when you watch the last few minutes.

I'm just after reading on Twitter that The Shield are to be stepping down and dropping their belts - all of em - because of backstage issues. Anyone know any more on this?

Loads tweeting that the Wyatts are to basically take their place.

The Shield hurt the Undertaker and they got into a locker room fight with Orton. They also have a rep for their push going to their heads.

There was power struggle between Vince McMahon and Hunter in real life. Vince wanted them punished and Hunter didn't. But ultimately Vince's view won out.

Rollins has a crap handshake which annoyed Vince, was one of the rumours doing the rounds a while back.Probably bollocks.

I like what I've seen of them, pity they sound like knobheads backstage. They've an image that I think is pretty decent. Thought they were gonna go huge as they were.

What's the criteria for selecting these 'From The Vault' segments? Has someone written up an algorithm to search-out the most obscure, prolonged bouts that's been forgotten about by all existence?

Was it back this week, what was this weeks match?

Kato vs Tito Santana from a Main Event (I think) taping, the highlight being Heenan/Hayes/VKM having a kerfuffle on the commentary.

I'm liking Ryback's quasi-Bully Ray shtick, he's showing something other than stoic and hungry. The build to ADR/Christian to starting to have an air of slight sadness, as though it's Christian's somber send-off.

Just find out who his favourites are and go to the show that they are affiliated with.

Pretty cool to see Drake Younger in the backstage segment with Ryback. Joey Ryan lurking in the background too.

If I'm reading your question correctly: Raw and Smackdown are on TV (Raw being more popular than Smackdown and three hours long) and they are where the storylines progress. The other dates are house shows which are usually self-contained things for the local crowd.

There used to be separate Raw and Smackdown tours but I think they've been merged in favour of this whole WWE Live branding.

Wyatt was great, they should have called him Bane Wyatt though!
