    Hi all,

Ok so I have 3 exams next week for my 3rd year repeats. I've heard that you can carry forward up to 2 subjects into your next year if you fail your repeat exams and sit it the next semester. Is this true in all cases or is it just for 1st years?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks :P

Yep it's true you can marry modules on and do them next May but the number of modules that can be carried can depend on the course. You should check up on that just in case.

Also, your chances of a 1:1/2:1 are gone if this happens in a year that effect your degree results so try 100% at the repeats please. Doesn't sound like you are if you are asking this question, to be sort of blunt about it!

This is a totally different question altogether but what is the story for re regestering when your repeating modules? I have 3 repeats coming up.

Classes start on the 9th of September but the repeat results arent out until the 18th of September. Does this mean i will have to miss 11 days of classes or whats the story?

^ You attend classes as per the norm. Once the results are released you will be contacted by your course leader in regards to your next move i.e

    1) Continue with your second year classes after successful results

    2) Repeat first year by either going to the failed modules as scheduled on the new 1st years' timetable or else not attending college for the year and just doing the exams (while still having to pay reg fees obviously)

    3) Drop out of college

If you are thinking of changing course, get it sorted straight away on your return. Don't wait until repeat results are out as it could be too late.

Carrying subjects depends entirely on the course, its not something that you are guaranteed to be able to carry forward. Best speak with your course leader for more information.

Indeed, the odd system of returning to classes for a period of weeks pending examination results continues. When they come out, if you fail, speak with your course leader about being allowed repeat them again in the next exam session for that particular exam and whether your able to continue on in classes pending the repeat. There out to help you in most cases :)
