Qualification to become broadcast engineer

Hello can anyone working as a broadcast engineer advise the best path to working in the industry? The obvious qualification seems to be a degree in electronic engineering but perhaps there are more focussed broadcast engineering/technology courses that would be regarded as industry standard?
I have an IT Support/Systems Admin/Web Development background so already have technical experience. I've also worked in a voluntary capacity at various radio stations for several years. Any advice would be appreciated.

Your qualification would stand you in good stead for a broadcast engineer's job, if there were any!

But being a broadcast engineer needs familiarity with broadcast equipment and systems, and broadcast methodology (and air conditioning, plumbing, woodworking etc etc! but that's another story).

    PM me for more.

Oh, iRadio have been advertising for a broadcast engineer recently.
