This publication went out of business last month. It was bought by the publisher of its main rival -Performance VW and closed down.

I can’t really find anything online mourning its passing.

I can see why it was canned, it wasn’t great lately but none the less it was a good mag

They featured a boardsies car a few years ago – trevorbrady’s rather sublime Audi 80

Anybody else going to miss this magazine??

Theres being a lot of talk in the last few years about online media having a negative impact on print media.

Sadly the single marque magazines will be most vulnerable to this in the car magazine world - because you've got forums now for various makes of cars and in someways the magazines lose out then as a result.

Don't think people have the same interest in reading a magazine anymore - due to seeing everything on line now.

Things like Ipads and equivalent tablets make online browsing handier - you might have been more inclined a few years ago to buy a magazine for a flight or train journey - but now you simply whip out the Ipad and off you go. I suppose you can't use an ipad on a plane - but the flights are such hassle now youd hardly be in the humour for it anyway.

Magazines are now trying to compete by making it possible to read the whole issue on line through your Ipad etc. Don't know how well that works - theres an Ambulance magazine in the Uk that you can read every issue of without paying a penny.

Advertising revenue pays the bills there no doubt - but its hard to see a future as a magazine when you start depending 100 percent on advertising revenue.

Its sad really - I still like to buy magazines - but in reality I bring them home read them once and then don't look at them too much after that.

Bought 4 of them in the last month or 2 - but each time - I read them in the car while waiting for someone - and they stayed in the car - forgot about two of them until someone spotted them in the car :D.

Ive bought mercedes enthusiast more or less since it came out, often wonder how they keep going but they are the only mag for that marque whereas bmw have 3 or more mags dedicated to it.
