Not sure if this is the right forum since it's more destruction, but I have a small front garden wall, about 4 foot high max and around 8 foot long maybe, was wondering do I need permission to knock it down, and also roughly how much that'd cost?

knocking the wall is fine, but widening the vehicular entrance requires permission :)

so can i assume thats what you want to happen??

the footpath will need to be dropped if thats what you want to do

Excuse my ignorance but what do you mean by widening the vehicular entrance? Is that not the same as knocking the wall down? I'm not sure if you saw the picture but all I want is that wall gone so another car will fit.

i saw the pic..... but this is simply a case of definition. If you want to be able to drive a car into the yard where the wall currently is, then by definition you are widening the vehicular entrance, and therefore you require permission.

the council would see this as you wanting to widen the access, and consequently you need to knock the wall... not the other way round.

I see your point, assuming I have great neighbours who are very good friends of ours, this shouldnt technically be a problem though?

generally no, maybe have a meeting with your local planner before any application goes in and have a chat to see what issues, if any, they might have.

Cheers thanks for that, any guesstimate on a rough cost for the work?
