    Hey,

So I hear that 3-4 nights in Vegas is plenty but have enough time to spend 5-6 nights. Is 5-6 nights too many...is 4 nights too little? It's for January and the accommodation prices are great apart from the Saturday night which is prob the total cost of all other nights put together....that's why thinking of shortening the trip to 4 nights but don't want to regret it:confused:

3 is plenty! The novelty wears off fast. I've been 5 times but never for more than 3 nights at a time.

4 nights should be plenty, make sure you have time to visit the Grand Canyon and prebook your trip

i've being twice in the last year for 6 days and 7 days, I think 5-6 is a good time line, it'll give you a chance to head to freemount for a night or 2 which i'd highly recommend, but vegas can be very tough on a budget, especially when you like the roulette table.

Vegas is great but cut the Saturday. Weekends are expensive and at that time of the year a mid week break will be enough. Use the extra day and cash to go to the Grand Canyon if you haven't already included it in your trip.

Maybe you could break your time in Vegas by visiting somewhere nearby? Could avoid the expensive Saturday night! I haven't done it but you could hire a car for a day or two and go to the Grand Canyon (5-6 hour drive, could stay overnight) or Death Valley (little over 2 hour drive).

So is there much else to do at the Grand Canyon or is it a case of get in, see the thing, get out? I know when we were at Iguasu alot of people we met were staying for 2 nights and we were delighted we only stayed one night...you see it all in a few hours or whatever.....

Would suggest 2 nights in vegas, rent a car & drive to grand Canyon via Hoover Dam. Spend a night at Canyon. Drive back to vegas & then another night or 2

Hoover Dam route is more scenic or shorter? Cool thanks for that. Hoping to leave Vegas for the weekend at the end of the trip there cause that when prices get mad so won't be doing the canyon in the middle of it

If staying for five or six nights you could always break it up by staying somewhere off strip for a couple of nights, either downtown or somewhere like the M Resort or Green Valley Ranch.

Rent a car in LA and drive to Vegas, spend a few days and then drive back to LA and return the car.

Might be a lot of driving but its very iconic drive through the desert. Might be fun/different.

Alternatively rent a car in vegas and drive to the grand canyon yourself.

    Just random ideas...

save up and take the chopper tour to the GC

Try and get to the South Rim of The Grand Canyon. Its further from Vegas but worth the extra journey. You might want to fly.

3 nights would be quiet short for a first timer imo. At least 4. A week isnt too long for many.
