Hi I have a 15 year old green beech hedge and in the last year it hasnt been thriving as much as it should be. I have also noticed some leaves are brown while there is a black soot like substance on other leaves.

I was wondering does anyone know what it might be or what can i do?

Do you feed the hedge after trimming it?

Any general purpose fertiliser; just follow the instructions on the pack.
