    Astonishing day of AFL drama.

First Brisbane sack club legend Voss after 5 years as coach even though the Lions look like they are making progress. A lot of talk that Roos is lined up to take over.

Hird, Corcoran, Thompson and the Doc all charged tonight and they will face a hearing in a couple of weeks. Still up in the air to a certain extent as to whether they'll get a points deduction etc.

Sounds like the Bombers are going to fight it all tooth and nail anyway.

Good decision by the Lions, poor execution though. Should have left it till the off season, they must have someone lined up and want to pounce before Essendon start looking.

IMO Brisbanes list is better than they are playing.

I hope they throw the book at Essendon, make an example of them, not pussy out like the tanking debacle

Cue everyone jumping on Redden, Hanley and Zorko in DT next year.

It looks like Pearce Hanley has signed a 5year deal with Brisbane. That's some commitment by both parties.

Yeah it'll be between 2.5 and 3 million over 5 years. Its a fantastic reward for him and the work he has done. He's legitimately a top tier player now and Mike Sheahan who's one of the most respected journos on AFL over here put him in his All Australian team on the TV tonight.

    My take on it here:

Essendon kicked out of finals, 2 million dollar fine and Hird suspended for a year. Dramatic day

That's big news alright. Will it give Carlton/Zach Touhy a chance to make finals now or will they limit the finals to 7? It looks like Brisbane will miss out against Carlton for 8th spot

finals will always have 8. Its big news alright. I'm glad they held firm though. The crap they were up to was utterly ridiculous.

Not at all, Brisbane will pound the Cats, Port will beat Carlton, and Freo will jump into 2nd and get a home qualifying final :D
