Thinking of buying a new semi offset 6ft topper and can get one for a €1000 but I see 5ft fleming topper for sale elsewhere for €1500.
Is there some difference in them that I don't know

Is the 5ft one fully offset?

I think the fully offset only come in 6ft and greater though.

Maybe it is the difference between a list price and actual hard deal price.

Also maybe one is the 2012 version and the other the 2013 version - there are some differences.

    False alarm
I just rechecked the add and it's been edited and all sizes are now selling at a €1000
    Sounds like a good deal
Have you any experience with them, are they any good.
Have a finger bar mower but she's not going to good so looking to change

think about going for the 6ft fully offset, bit dearer but gives a better finish because you wont be driving over the grass you are topping

Firstly I'd agree with Conor's piece of advice there.

Yes, we bought a new 8ft one three years ago now to replace a mowing bar.

We were looking for a secondhand 7/8ft fully offset but everything was scrap to be honest. So we bought the cheaper of the brand new versions with the intention that it will last a long time. Thus far very happy and it has impressed others around here too.

Does anyone know how much the 6ft fully offset are costing and would they be much heavier. Have a ford 4600,could she handle it

Seen a 6 foot semi offset Nugent topper, in my local farm supplies store.
Been there since early in the season.
Originally €1250. Now down to €950.
Don't know how Nugent would rate, against say Major or Abbey, but is seems like a good price, for anybody wanting a topper.

Stay away from the semi offset toppers, all they do is leave fields looking like sh1te after them. You can get a brand new 6ft fully offset topper for €1500 so well worth the extra €500 IMO :D

Well when we bought the 8ft fully offset first it was on a Ford 4610 and she handled when the loader was on.

I will say when it was out to the side you couldn't rise it as it would tip the tractor but otherwise no problems at all.

Major website, advertises a 2011 used 8 foot offset, at €3100,
So what a new 6 foot offset, has to cost a lot more than €1500:eek:

Again asking price versus selling price.

I bet you would buy a new one for a little more than that (8ft by the way).

Three years ago, there was only €200 in it for 7 versus 8ft.

You can get either a Bridgeway or Belmac 6ft fully offset topper for €1500 new.
The blade cutting width on these is probably around 5'6" but they are known as 6ft toppers. Perhaps this led to the confusion.

Both are decent machines and 100 times better than any semi-offset topper

How much did that set you back?

I have a belmac one that is showing its age and needs replacing. Its come to the stage that I'm welding it myself and my welding is p1ss poor.

Brother in law bought a 6ft humac one but it was dear imo.
