An Odd Request

Hi guys, I'm not a regular around here but I didn't really have a clue as to where to go to ask a question like this.

I'm fond of collecting figurines, specifically those that are videogame related, but I'm completely untalented in anything to do with models or their assembly. I've been wanting to buy this but there's no way in hell I'd be able to assemble or paint it, would it be completely out of the ordinary to want to pay someone to do it for you? :P

    I'd appreciate any help! Thanks.

It's actually common to have figures or even whole armies painted by someone else for a price; obviously the level of detail and the skill of the painter comes into the prices for doing so. Your best bet would be to ask around at your local games club if they know someone who's known to do commission painting and take it from there.

That's good advice, thank you. Even better though, would there anybody here who'd be up to the challenge? :D

It'd be best if you looked at someone who does painting commissions professionally. Any old Joe Soap online could rip you off. It happens!

Look for any wargaming or warhammer clubs that you can find, and I'm sure you'll get your hands on a commissioner.

Ah yes I know, but I assumed this board would be a tight-knit community of regulars since it doesn't get a lot of traffic and mods/high post count users could be able to vouch for one-another. I'll look into that too.

Well The Sound of Machines does excellent work and a variety of models and Vinsanity has done quite a few armies as well but neither are based in Ireland.

Search for twin linked painting on facebook. He's super into MGS and Mecha he'll give you a fair price. Good quality and affordable.

But at 220mm tall it won't be a steal.

Personally i'd charge around 250-300 for a basic paintjob. Add in weathering/chipping/oil effects and the price could nearly double. I'm more so at the high end on the spectrum but i can choose my work around my free time. The main guy at twin-linked is very good and very reliable time-wise. Check him out.
