    Hi all

    Just bought a 2008 TDCI Focus 1.6.

Engine sounds and runs perfectly but I just wanted to check one thing.

The noise from the timing belt is evident when the bonnet is up. Just bascially the noise of the belt moving. Slight hissing noise.

It this normal or is it a sound the belt is on the way out?

    80k miles on the clock.

    Thanks,

if its a hissing noise id be goin with either an intercooler pipe leaking or been a 1.6 id say yer injector seals are leaking

What he said ^^^^ injector seals check around your injectors for a build up of carbon or pressure blowing out.

Thanks for the above but its not really a leaking or pressure sound really.

I think its just the belts moving. Bascially it is just the sound of the rubber.

So it may just be normal.

You can bring it to a Ford mechanic. They probably won't charge just for a listen.
