Short term self confidence

    Bit of a strange one,

Basically I have very low self confidence, I'm very fat and hate how I look.

Now I am working on making myself more confident and less depressed in the long term, and loosing weight is obviously an important (but gradual) process.

However, I am going away on a 3 week holiday with my (slim) friends in a few days. It's too late to lose weight at this stage, and I hate that I let myself get like this. I was walking around Dublin today and even seeing my reflection in shop windows etc. made me feel terrible.

Is there a way I can be 'temporarily' confident while away, just so I don't spend more of the holiday unhappy and brooding than I'd like to? Then I'll make an effort on loosing weight afterwards.

Have you looked up tips for posing for pictures? How is your posture? Do some Pilates or yoga classes before you go away to help your posture. Standing and sitting properly will help you look slimmer and better.

I always feel better with good feet and a glossy hair colour!

I find putting on the tinting body moisturisers helps too, and it goes on smoother if you use a tanning mitt.

    Nice shades too!

I'd agree with everything December 2012 said.

Just to add, you should bring some walking/running/swimming gear with you while you're away. There's bound to be some sort of gym/pool/tracks around where you are, and not only will it be another experience to add to the holiday, but the more you exercise the more you'll feel great, regardless of physical changes.

    Hey there OP,
Completely agree with above posts, if your hair and tan looks good you will too. A manicure and pedicure would be worth it too. You can get gorgeous false nails in Penny's for 1.50 in various colours. False lashes can be nice too on a night out.

Penny's have fantastic summer maxi dresses and long skirts. Skinny jeans with a nice loose shirt and a scarf can look great. If you are happy about showing off your legs, Penny's also do really nice dresses and skirts.

I was on the beach the last day and there was a girl with a short skirt, and a long cardigan on, she was probably a size 18 and she looked beautiful. She had teamed it with lovely bracelets and chunky necklace. She looked much better than all her skinnier friends with their exact outfits that consisted of teeny tiny denim shorts.

I really doubt that you are as big as you think you are, or that your friends are as slim as you think they are. And you can be sure they have hang up's about their bodies too. We all do. I bet you are only gorgeous. Have a ball :)
