Is the USA evil?

I love America I lived there for many years but it does some sh1tty things.

From its beginnings with the native American genocide and the slave trade , the continued segregation of blacks and whites right up to the 1960s.

Its massive military industrial complex keeping the country in what seems a perpetual war. Millions dead and maimed.

The cia and its hand in an endless list of foreign government overthrows
Actually involving themselves in drug trafficking which led in part to the devastating crack epidemic seen on US streets

The frightening power of the corporate lobbyists in Washington subverting democracy while the corporate owned media remains largely silent.(obviously they would)

The country is awash with guns 300,000,000 by some estimates, even as horrific massacres of kids in schools happen frequently there seems to be absolutely nothing done about it.

The highest prison population on the planet (2,000,000+?)and the rise of the prison industrial complex with its privately run prisons, where its good for business to lock as many people up as they can.

The richest country on Earth cannot provide healthcare for its citizens and because of its over reaching foreign policy continues to make life dangerous for Americans overseas.
I think the root of many of the USA's problems mainly lie with corporate influence in Government, until that is stamped out nothing will change and will probably get worse.

Is America evil or is this how things are done?

You'll always get some form of corporate lobbyists anywhere there's an "elected government." Political parties have the tendency to act in the interests of their supporters.
